Your data in the app
The app stores your answers (region, time, area, German skills), your language and your settings only in your browser's storage on your device. They are not sent to any server. I cannot see them. The app suggests your language from your device's language; this also happens only on your device.
You can delete everything at any time yourself by clearing the site data for Voluntino in your browser or by removing the installed app.
Visiting the website and loading the app
When you open the website, your browser sends technically necessary data to the server: IP address, date and time, the requested address, browser and operating system, and your preferred language. I use the language only to send you to the matching language version; it is not stored for this.
The website is hosted by Hostinger International Ltd. (61 Lordou Vironos Street, 6023 Larnaca, Cyprus). Hostinger processes this data on my behalf to deliver the pages and protect them against attacks, and may keep it in log files for a short time. I do not analyse these logs or combine them with other data.
The legal basis is my legitimate interest in a secure, working service (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Reporting "This information is not correct"
If you report that something about a suggestion is wrong, the app only sends the program's identifier, the reason you chose and the app version. So that several reports from the same person do not count more than once, the server derives a shortened check value from your IP address and a random key that is created anew every day and never stored. The IP address itself is not stored; the check value cannot be turned back into the address, nor can it recognise a person across days. Reports and check values are deleted after seven days. Only counts per program are evaluated, to hide wrong information.
The legal basis is my legitimate interest in correct information and in protection against misuse (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
Translation suggestions
If you suggest a better text, the language, the text's identifier, your suggestion and the app version are sent, plus the same daily check value as for reports. A suggestion is only taken over when several independent people suggest the same text. Please do not put personal details into a suggestion. Suggestions and check values are deleted after seven days; texts that are taken over become part of the app without any link to you.
Checking the program pages
Once a week, Voluntino loads the public pages of the linked organisations to check that the details are still right. No data about users is processed for this. If the check uses an AI service, only the public text of the program page is sent to it.
No cookies, no tracking
Voluntino uses no cookies, no analytics or advertising tools and no social media plugins. Fonts, images and code are loaded from the website itself, not from other servers.
Links to organisations and sources
The app and the website link to the organisations' pages and to official sources. No data is sent with these links. Your browser only connects to such a site when you open the link; its privacy policy applies there. If you sign up with an organisation, that organisation is responsible for your data.
Support via PayPal or bank transfer
The app and the "Support" page have links to PayPal. No data is sent with them. Only when you tap one does PayPal's page open (PayPal (Europe) S.à r.l. et Cie, S.C.A., 22–24 Boulevard Royal, L-2449 Luxembourg); its privacy statement applies there.
If you send me money, PayPal gives me your name, email address, the amount and any message. I use this only for the payment and keep it as long as the law requires. The legal basis is processing your payment (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and legal retention duties (Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR).
If you transfer money to my account (the app and the website show the IBAN and a QR code for this; the QR code is only read by your banking app), my bank statement shows your name, your IBAN, the amount and the reference. The same applies as for PayPal payments.
Support is voluntary and without anything in return; all features of Voluntino stay free.
Contact by email
If you write to me, I use your email address and message only to reply and delete them once they are no longer needed for that.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and to object. Just send me an email.
If you believe that the processing of your data violates data protection law, you can complain to the Austrian Data Protection Authority: Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Wien, dsb.gv.at.
Changes
If Voluntino gets new features that process data differently, I will update this policy first.
